Sky Golf announces the Skycaddie SGX

Sky Golf SGXReleased in April 2010, the Skycaddie SGX is the next generation of Skycaddie GPS rangefinders.

The SGX features a new slick look and is a departure away from the look of the existing Skycaddie SGX order nowskycaddie rangefinders. It has a durable 3 inch LCD screen providing bright and vivid color images even in direct sunlight.

The Skycaddie SGX retains some of Sky Golf’s current technologies such as Intelligreen® and HoleVue™ it also introduces a few new ones.

SmartClub™ Technology

Once a club is removed from your golf bag, SmartClub Tags located at the butt end cap of the grip establishes a direct communication link with the SkyCaddie. Expect more information as this is expected to be released later in 2010.

SGX Club Reminder™

Golfers who utilize SmartClub technology will be alerted if a club is left behind before the player advances to the next hole.

SGX Game Tracker™

This features utilises the same technology to capture which club was used, and the location and distances of each shot, eliminating effortof manually entering your information. This information can then be uploaded and used to analyse and compare your golf game.

The SGX comes preloaded courses with basic green information with over 25,000 courses. Greater storage capability enables around 50 fully featured courses to be stored on the device. This gives the user all of the features of Sky Golf’s GPS ground mapping technology.

SkyCaddie SGX is available online and at most major golf shops or Pro Shops. SmartClub Technology with SGX SmartClub Tags is expected to be available later in 2010. I think the SkyCaddie SGX may take GPS for golf to a whole new level. Up to this point, GPS units may have improved the speed of play, but this thing may actually improve golf games. People can stop deceiving themselves about how far they hit the ball! I’m also glad to hear the it will be more intuitive and easier to see. I have a number of friends who struggle with it on the older units.

I got my SkyCaddie two Christmases ago. Only used it one summer. I would like the new one. What do I do with the old one. Maybe you should consider some for of software upgrade to allow smart club technology and game tracker on older models.

I talked to a rep of skycaddie today and by year end, they will be introducing grips for you”re clubs along with caps that fit in the end of the shaft that will work with golf pride, winn, lampkin and other leading grip makers. The SGX will recognize which club you selected from the bag and let you know if you made the right choice by previous distances hit by the club selected. Nice feature.

I can’t believe SkyCaddie introduced the SGX before sortingout all the sync problems first. I’ve just spent 7 hours over 3 occasions with the online support centre, they were in control over the net of my computer and still could not resolve the sync issues. I tried 2 different computers 1 with Windows XP and 1 with Windows 7.
Sorry but I returned the SGX back to the seller with a nasty gram. SkyCaddie please sort your act out.
