After the recent release of the Approach G3 golf gps, Garmin have released a software upgrade to the top of the range Approach G5 that provides stat-tracking.
Announcing the upgrade at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, this adds additional functionality to a rangefinder that already has over 12,000 courses pre-loaded.
The free software upgrade is available immediately and will tell you how far you hit each club, and stats like fairways hit, greens in regulation and putts per round. Download the Garmin Approach upgrade now at the Garmin website.
With all this is useful information, golfers looking to improve their game will be able to identify areas of weakness to work on. The stats are available on the handset or can be uploaded to your PC via a USB cable.
Both the Garmin Approach G5 and Approach G3 conform with the rules of the R&A and USGA.
